Qualified and Trainee Counsellors
Raphael welcomes applications from fully Qualified Counsellors or Trainee Counsellors looking for placements.
All applicants must:

be Jewish and have some knowledge and experience of the Jewish community and the issues faced by them.

have a working knowledge of unconscious processes and the ability to build on and develop an understanding of this area of counselling.

have had substantial personal therapy (for trainees at least six months prior to applying) at least weekly, with a non-directive therapist registered by UKCP or BPC or accredited by BACP.
Qualified Counsellors must:

be UKCP, BPC or BACP accredited.
Trainee Counsellors must:

have completed a Foundation Course and preferably to be in the second or further year of a non-directive counselling/psychotherapy training which leads to UKCP or BPC registration or is accredited by BACP.

check with their tutor or course director that they have reached a stage of professional and personal development to be ready to undertake clinical work or, if they have started clinical work elsewhere, that their supervisor agrees they are ready to take on another placement.

if still undergoing training, need to be located in London or nearby to be able to see clients in person if that is in line with their course requirements.
Qualified Counsellors and Trainee Counsellors must:

be able to offer a minimum of two counselling sessions per week pro bono for Raphael clients.

attend free fortnightly in-house supervision.

attend twice yearly (Sundays) professional development days.

make a commitment to stay with Raphael for a minimum of two years. We hope you would enjoy working with us and want to stay longer.

a description of any voluntary work you have done.

a brief account of your current work and other commitments, your training course, length of your personal therapy and theoretical orientation of your therapist.
